I am so excited to be sharing this juicy info with you and can't wait to let you know what's been going on behind the scenes at Red Tent Aotearoa and Conscious Consulting NZ. For those that are hearing about The Red Tent movement for the first time, please let me fill you in. Red Tents have been popping up all over the world and have been around for as long as women have been sitting together and sharing the knowledge and wisdom that is within. My name is Jill Genet and I am the founder of Red Tent Australia, a non-profit charitable organisation that was established in 2013 in Brisbane with the sole purpose to support women in setting up their own Red Tents in every neighbourhood. Since its birth, Red Tent Australia has created over 40 branches of Red Tents in towns and cities all over Australia, trained over 100 facilitators, and continues to change countless women's lives.
I returned home to Aotearoa in Jan 2020 and didn't realise how deeply I would grieve the feeling of sitting in Sacred Space each month with a circle of women who supported and loved me. And so, in November of 2020, I launched Red Tent Aotearoa. It has been warmly received and we have been gaining in strength, and connection over these past 11 months. We have assembled an amazing Board of Trustees and are ready to establish Red Tent Aotearoa as a Non-Profit Organisation! Our goal is to open Red Tents across Aotearoa, so that women have a safe space to gather, rest, learn, and be nurtured each month. Alongside the new moon Red Tent gatherings, we've been hosting Courageous Conversations on the Full Moon. These are mixed circles that have become Christchurch's not-to-be-missed monthly discussion groups, where we explore thought-provoking topics, and offer opportunities to connect and have meaningful conversations. Our next Courageous Conversation- 'Reacting versus Responding' is taking place THIS THURSDAY 21st OCT starting at 6 pm and there's still room for you to join us.
The Kaupapa- These events have been created for people who want to learn how to listen with the same passion that they wish to be understood. Too often, we are thinking about our response before the person has even finished speaking. Secure your spot here When we learn how to communicate fully with clarity, kindness, and courage there is no situation we cannot manage. During these evenings we will explore different communication styles and always invite attendees to look at things from different perspectives. At these events, we invite everyone to speak so that we can truly see them. Equity, diversity, and inclusion are given precedence in every korero. Our next Red Tent circle The Power of Your Cycle is coming up THIS SUNDAY 24th Oct 3-6pm
The information that will be shared at this circle will change your life, even if you are no longer cycling this knowledge will be powerful and shareable with other women in girls in your life. Wild Woman Workshop Series After a couple of postponements, we have locked in dates for our Wild Woman Workshop Series- Sat 30th Oct 7pm-9:30pm & Sat 13th Nov 9:30-3:30pm These events are being held at the Risingholme Community Hall. At this 1st event, we will WAKE UP and uncover your WILD WOMAN. She is waiting inside of you, ready to be explored and set free. Together we create a sacred space, where we can truly show up and show vulnerability. At this experience, you will release old energies and learn more about yourself. At this transformational journey, we take a deeper look into ourselves. A time for self-expression, connection, and healing. A space to reconnect with mother nature, other women, and your own unlimited beauty.
At the second event, we will spend the whole day exploring how to live authentically fully embodied in your WILD WOMAN!
